Northeast Florida Christian Chamber of Commerce Honors Our First Responders

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Northeast Florida Christian Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the inaugural First Responder Appreciation Lunch. The event will take place on November 7, 2023, at the Church of Eleven22 San Pablo Campus. Join us as we pause to say thank you to the first responders working in the City of Jacksonville and surrounding areas who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to public safety and a selfless dedication to our community.

Our guest speaker will be the founder and lead pastor of The Church of Eleven22, Joby Martin. He will share a message of appreciation and encouragement with our first responders while they enjoy a no-cost lunch courtesy of our Christian Chamber members and sponsors.

In addition to lunch, the event will also present an opportunity for first responders to meet one another, expand their network, and cultivate relationships with other like-minded individuals from all areas of local emergency services.

"As a chamber, we want to do things to serve and bless our community collectively. This is a part of the community outreach and engagement that we get to do, representing our members, by appreciating those first responders who serve our community sacrificially. We believe that in providing leadership as Christians, one of the best first steps is to say ‘thank you,’” says Jeff Dalrymple, Co-Founder of the NE Florida Christian Chamber.

Registration is now open for the inaugural First Responders Appreciation Lunch on November 7th, 2023.  We invite our law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel to obtain their free ticket by using the code HERO when registering.

Celebrating Faith and Freedom on the Fourth of July

As the 4th of July approaches, may we reflect on the profound significance of this day. It’s more than a celebration of our nation's independence; it is a moment to appreciate the intertwined values of faith and freedom that have shaped the American spirit.

The United States was founded on principles that echo deeply within the Christian faith. Our nation's founders, influenced by a belief in divine providence, emphasized liberty as a God-given right. This connection between faith and freedom is evident in historical documents such as the Declaration of Independence, which acknowledges that all people "are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights."

Christianity’s emphasis on the inherent worth and dignity of each person has been a guiding light throughout our nation's history. It reminds us that our freedoms are not merely civic privileges but are grounded in the divine acknowledgment of our shared humanity.

Patriotism, when viewed through the lens of Christian faith, transcends mere allegiance to a country. It becomes a commitment to uphold values such as justice, compassion, and stewardship. The Bible calls us to "act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8). These are the same values that undergird the notion of true patriotism.

As members of the Northeast Florida Christian Chamber, we see these principles in action through various community initiatives. Local churches and organizations often spearhead efforts to support veterans, assist the needy, and promote civic engagement. This harmonious blend of faith and patriotism enriches our community, making it a beacon of hope and charity.

As we gather with family and friends to celebrate the 4th of July, let's do so in ways that honor both our God and our country. Consider starting your day with a prayer of thanksgiving for the freedoms we enjoy. Reflect on the sacrifices of those who have served and continue to serve our nation and take time to participate in community events that foster unity and goodwill.

As we commemorate this day, may we remain steadfast in our commitment to uphold the values of freedom and justice. May we seek divine guidance in our endeavors to create a society that reflects the love and compassion of Christ. And may we always be grateful for the blessings of liberty.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of freedom and the opportunity to celebrate it. Bless our nation and our community and guide us to be faithful stewards of the liberty You have entrusted to us. Amen.

Happy 4th of July!
